Updates

January has been an encouraging start to the year as we’ve seen new growth, deeper relationships, and God’s grace at work in both churches. We’re thankful for how the Lord is strengthening people and laying foundations for what is ahead, and excited for a special matched giving opportunity toward the Redeemer church property!

Youth Meeting

This month we hosted a youth gathering at our home for the first time. Since moving closer to the church and gaining a backyard, we were able to open our home in a new way. About 20 young people gathered for food, fellowship, and a devotional on the forgiveness we have in Christ. It was a wonderful evening and an encouraging step forward in building deeper relationships with the youth.
God’s grace continues to be visible in powerful ways. This month, as Alex faithfully served by repairing plumbing at the church I considered how two years ago, he arrived at the church with a history of alcoholism. Today, he is a faithful member who serves wherever he is able. His life is a testimony to God’s restoring grace and faithfulness.

Leaders Developing

We are also encouraged to see men at Redentor stepping into leadership roles, including leading the Lord’s Supper. These steps reflect spiritual growth and a willingness to lead by example. This is a glimpse of the leadership that will carry this church forward long after our role here is finished.

A Firm Foundation

This month, an idol commonly trusted in our community was accidentally destroyed when it caught fire from a candle, a reminder of how fragile the things people place their hope in can be. What many rely on for protection can disappear in a moment. In contrast, the hope we proclaim in Christ is secure and unchanging. With that in mind, we are working to establish a lasting foundation for ministry through the Redeemer church property. We are thankful for a matched giving opportunity of up to $10,000 doubling the impact of each gift. Gifts can be given through Vision Baptist Missions to the “Redeemer Building Fund”.
