THE STORY BEHIND OUR MISSION
Our journey to Peru:
A Calling we couldn’t ignore.
In 2013, on a short-term mission trip, God stirred our hearts for Peru in a way we couldn’t ignore. We knew that God was calling us to return—not just as visitors, but to pour our lives into planting churches that would share the gospel and make disciples. In December 2021, we arrived in Arequipa, eager to learn the language and dive into ministry. Through challenges and growth, by May 2024, we launched Iglesia Bautista Redentor in a bustling community of 80,000 people. Our dream is to see this church become a thriving, self-sustaining beacon of hope, sending out church planters to impact the entire region. We believe in the power of the local church to transform lives, and we are overjoyed to be serving God together as a family.

We’re here to glorify God by making disciples, sharing the gospel, and planting churches in Arequipa and beyond. Our heart is to see lives transformed by the grace of Jesus, building a community rooted in Scripture, equipped for ministry, and sent out to spread His love.
OUR MINISTRY PLAN

Our ministry plan is built upon four key pillars that guide everything we do, each one designed to establish a strong foundation for long-term growth. These pillars are the roadmap to fulfilling God’s calling for us in Peru, and through them, we are trusting God to bring transformation to individuals, families, and entire communities.
Evangelize
We believe that the greatest need in Peru is not just social or political change, but the life-changing power of the gospel. It is through the preaching of the cross that hearts are transformed. Our mission is to bring the message of Christ to every corner of Arequipa and beyond, knowing that the gospel is the true power of God for salvation.

Disciple Believers
Our journey doesn’t end with a simple profession of faith; it begins there. We are committed to walking with new believers, guiding them through Scripture and example, teaching them how to live a life that reflects God’s love and truth. Discipleship is about equipping people to grow in their faith, so they can live out the gospel every day.

Plant Churches
The local church is God’s design for spreading the gospel to the world, and we are passionate about seeing healthy, vibrant churches planted throughout Peru. Our goal is to see these churches become self-sustaining communities that multiply and spread the message of Jesus to new regions, creating a ripple effect that will impact generations to come.

Train Leaders
To build a lasting impact, we know we must raise up strong leaders who will carry the gospel forward. We are dedicated to training men who can plant churches, lead with integrity, and continue to multiply disciples in their communities. By investing in leaders, we are ensuring the gospel’s reach for years to come.

Our vision is for Iglesia Bautista Redentor to grow into a thriving, self-sustaining church that not only impacts its community but also multiplies by sending out workers, leaders, and missionaries to plant new churches across Arequipa and beyond. We believe this church will become a mother church, training future pastors and leaders to spread the gospel throughout Peru, and we pray it will be a strong pillar of faith, sparking a movement that will continue to spread God’s love for generations.
