These past two months have been such a blessing and encouragement to our family as we rounded out our time in the US and made our way back to Peru. God used this short time stateside as a way to rest our family, recount all that God has done in these past two years, and share our vision for the future. Thank you for your prayers as we traveled and for the gracious reception from the churches we had the opportunity to visit. It is with excitement and faith that we begin this next chapter to plant a new church here in Peru! Below are a few highlights from our travels and how things are going so far since we’ve been back:
Short Furlough Church Visits
I am grateful to the Lord for the churches we were able to visit on this short trip. Not only has God used them to care for our physical needs and the needs of the minstry, but God has used these pastors and church members to invest in our family in a personal way. We had countless meals and conversations that left us edified and encouraged as we returned to the field. Thank you for loving on our family! .
Happy Birthday Josh!
In January Josh celebrated his 30th birthday with a surprise party with the whole family. They went above and beyond and made it a very special occasion. It was an immense blessing to see family and spend time together. It is not often we get to celebrate special occasions together, so we are very grateful when we do get the chance!
The Search is On!
As soon as we arrived back in Peru and got settled in, we began the process of searching for a starting place for Redeemer Baptist Church. We began to searching from street to street with friends from the area looking for where we may begin. We are also working with several folks who work in the industry who are helping us find just what we are looking for. Our desire is to begin renting a space while we continue to save, with our sights set on purchasing a property for a long-term home for the church.
Would you pray that God would continue to provide these funds? Would you also pray that God would use us greatly in this community to be a light in an area where false religion is rampant?
New Church Plant!
We’ve been asking for prayer about a new church plant for the last few months. God has given us clarity and direction on planting Redeemer Baptist Church in an area of the city called “Bustamante”. This is the area we started a bible study in earlier this year. There is a strong presence of Mormon and Jehovah’s Witness outreach, and we believe there is a great need for the gospel! Would you pray for us as we seek to raise $200,000 to purchase a property and building to provide a lighthouse of hope in this urban community?
SUPPORT ADDRESS UPDATE:
Vision Baptist Missions, Inc. and the Our Generation Training Center have been praying for God to provide space for the ministry to expand. In February 2022, through the giving of many generous individuals and churches, God provided an excellent property in Dawsonville, Georgia with several buildings. We are very excited about the property the Lord has given us and the opportunities to expand into the future. We are so thankful for how the Lord has blessed our mission. One thing that also comes with this blessing is a new mailing and support address. Please begin sending all mail and support to the following:
